Day 01

Arrival in Uganda

Upon arrival in Uganda at Entebbe International Airport, located on a peninsula that juts out into Lake Victoria, Africa’s biggest fresh water lake, you will be welcomed and greeted by your driver/guide. He will be standing at the Arrivals Hall holding a placard with your name so you cannot miss him. You will then be transferred to the hotel/ guest house you have chosen and check-in for dinner and overnight stay. Your driver/ guide will brief you about your safari at some stage (either before dinner or first thing after breakfast the next day). Meal Plan: Dinner

DAY 03

Guided game drive & boat trip along Kazinga Channel

Begin your day with the anticipation of thrilling wildlife encounters as you embark on a morning game drive through the picturesque landscapes of Queen Elizabeth National Park. After the guided morning game drive, return to your lodge for a hot lunch. After, you will embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel – a major highlight of the safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park. From the boat cruise, if time allows continue on an evening game drive culminating into a return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 05

Gorilla trek & transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, your guide takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park HQ before 8:00 am for registration and briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority staff. Once briefed on gorilla trekking rules, you proceed to the trailhead of your assigned gorilla family and begin the trek through the forest undergrowth (lasting 30 minutes to 8 hours; requires reasonable fitness and sturdy walking shoes). Upon locating the gorillas, you spend one hour observing them as they feed on leaves, bamboo shoots, wild celery, stinging nettle, and fruit, with juveniles often playing nearby. Take plenty of photos and videos during this permitted observation time.

DAY 02

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, at 7.00am, commence the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will make three stops - at the Equator point (for leg stretches), for lunch at Igongo Country Hotel near Mbarara town and at a picturesque tea estate en-route to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Your first stop will be at the Equator point where you stretch, see and experience the magnetic pull of the earth as the two latitudes meet. Your next stop is at Igongo for lunch. After lunch, you will continue onto Queen Elizabeth National Park or its viscinity – across rolling hills, commercial tea estates, and pineapple plantations. The landscape changes before your eyes every few hours. On arrival, checkin and settle into the lodge. In the late afternoon, head to the Katwe Crater Lake. Once you arrive at the salt mines, marvel at the network of paths and huts that have been built across the lake to support hundreds of workers. During the tour of the lake you will see community members at work and you get to talk to them. Later, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 04

Drive to Bwindi via Ishasha Sector

You are up at leisure and enjoy your breakfast. At about 9.00am, you leave the Mweya (north) part of the park and head south to the Ishasha sector. The drive, which will serve as our morning game drive will last between 2-3 hours. Have your eyes peeled for more game! On arrival in the Ishasha sector, we search for the famous and unique tree-climbing lions. At the appropriate time, you will exit the park and continue your drive onto Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (where you travel to depends on where we have secured your gorilla permits – either the north or southern sector). On arrival, you check-in at the lodge you have chosen and have the rest of the day to yourselves. Later, dinner and overnight stay.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 06

Drive to Entebbe & Depart

After breakfast, check-out and commence the 7-hour drive to Entebbe. You will make two stops including one for an early lunch. After lunch, continue with a stop at the Equator point. Here, you can purchase some crafts and souvenirs from your Uganda safari and take fun photos at the Equator monument. You should arrive in Entebbe in the late afternoon/ early evening where you are dropped-off at the airport for you to check-in for your onward flight home. If your flight is much later, you can use the facilities at one of our partner Guest Houses to freshen up ahead of check-in. At the appropriate time, you will be dropped off at the airport in time for you to checkin for your onward flight to bring to an end what we believe will have been an awe-inspiring Uganda safari whose memories will stay with you for a long time.
